Best Dog Parks in Florida and The US

My previous blog post revealed that an active dog is a happy dog and that a happy dog is a well-behaved dog and went on to highlight some of the best dog beaches to bring your frenchie. In this post, I intend to add on to this information and tell you about some of the best dog parks in Florida and around the United States.

Best Dog Parks in Florida

Halifax Humane Society Dog Park is in Daytona Beach, Florida and is my go-to dog park. The park is separated into a small dog area and a large dog area. The small dog area is almost always empty so my three frenchies have the whole side to themselves most of the time. There is agility equipment, plenty of shade and benches. Water stations and walking trails are also available at this park. My pups love this park!

Barkley Square Dog Park is in beautiful historic Deland, Florida. This park has more than 14 acres of land for your frenchie to run and play. There are areas for large dogs and areas for small dogs and plenty of amenities including restrooms and dog watering stations. This is a very lovely park complete with a pond for your furry friend to play in, if they enjoy the water that is. Patrons have touted this park as the “best dog park in Central Florida.”

Beck Ranch Dog Park is in Osteen, Florida. This park was originally a working cattle ranch and has some incredibly unique features such as the ranch’s scale house, grain silo, and slaughterhouse. This park is full of old live oak trees and Florida native plants. Along with the dog park which has separate areas for small and large dogs, it has trails, picnic tables and restroom facilities.

Dog Wood Park is a 42-acre park in Jacksonville, Florida. This park has amenities galore including fitness activities, an agility course, swimming ponds, nature trails, exercise equipment, self-serve dog washing stations, pavilions, and more! This park has it all. There is a fee for this park and memberships are available. Some other things to keep in mind are that proof of rabies vaccinations are required and dogs over one year old must be neutered.

Bonita Springs Dog Park is in southwest Florida and includes over 6 acres of play area separated into areas for small dogs, medium dogs, and large dogs. This is a nice feature considering some of our frenchies fall into the medium dog category of 25-50 pounds. The medium sized dog play area is usually less crowded. This is partly because it is also less shaded. This park also offers a covered pavilion, dog washing station, picnic tables, benches, and a walking path.

Tropical Dog Park is in Miami, Florida. The dog park is two acres inside an exceptionally large park that includes baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, racquetball courts, an exercise course, an equestrian center, nature trails, concessions, a playground, and much more! The dog park area is fenced in and includes separate areas for large and small dogs along with an obstacle course and a dog fountain and shower. This park also includes beautiful scenery along a tranquil lake.

Best Dog Parks in the United States

Hugh Rogers WAG Park is in Whitefish, Montana and offers the most amazing views with the surrounding mountains. This dog park is five acres of open play space, paved paths, pavilions, benches, an agility course, pond, dog beach, and dog wash station. This park was voted one of the top 10 dog parks in USA Today!

Beau’s Dream Dog Park is part of Buchanan Park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The name says it all, this is a dream park! Not only does this park have separate areas for small dogs and large dogs, but it also has splash pads, agility equipment, and a tennis ball tree that launches tennis balls! Another nice feature of this park is that there is turf instead of grass so there are no worries of your pups getting muddy.

Pilgrim Dog Park is in Provincetown, Massachusetts. This park consists of an acre of land for our furry friends to run and play. Provincetown is rich in appreciation of arts and history and there are some neat benches and sculptures in the park reflecting this. The park has six-foot-high gates and has a separate section for small dogs. It makes sense that Provincetown has such a great dog park since Dog Fancy Magazine named Provincetown America’s most dog friendly town.

Freedom Barks Dog Park in Medford, New Jersey is huge! It has 26 acres of open fields for lots of furry fun! This park also has creeks for the dogs to play and benches for owners to relax. Only a portion of this park is fenced so if you are letting them play outside the fenced area, be sure they know their “come” command well.

Beneful Alabaster Dream Dog Park in Alabaster, Alabama features splash pads, tunnels, hoops, and many fun activities for our furry friends. The park is made of turf and has separate areas for small and large dogs. The park also features a fetch field and a walking course.

Settles Bridge Dog Park in Suwanee, Georgia is just one section of a 268-acre park which includes basketball courts, a skate complex, a playground, pavilions, grills, paved trails, unpaved trails, and restrooms. There are three sections to the dog park: one for small dogs, one for large dogs, and a separate running area. This park also features agility equipment and provides covered benches.

Just like with the dog beaches, cooling bandanas are also a great idea for dog parks! They are extremely helpful for keeping our frenchies cool and comfortable. I always bring a clean water bowl for my dogs as well.

Taking my crew to dog parks is always a fun activity and a great way to keep them socialized.
